Metalvolt: Ice Ninja

ElliotSo it snowed in my area the other day. It was all fun; snowballs and all. Thanks to my Ninja skills, I saved myself from getting some ice thrown at my leg. Let me explain.

So there I am, standing be a frozen-over pond by my friend’s (Greg) house. Now, I had been trying to smash the ice for days and it was starting to get on my nerves. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw 3 kids standing about 50 metres away. On closer observation, I saw that they were my age or younger! These kids were looking at me…and at first I thought, “Okay…” then I saw that 2 of them were wearing balaclavas and one had a scarf over his mouth and nose.

I instantly decided they were trouble. I decided to walk towards them, and they moved back. I knew I would have to use my Ninja Skillz to work out what was going on.

Picture it…Greg and I walking his dog, then suddenly I turn round to see the 3 balaclavas following us (obviously I mean the kids, but that’s what I’m going to call them). Greg and I turned a corner and hurried on down the next bit of pavement. I turn again and I saw them turn the corner we turned last. That really got to me. I had to find out what was up right then.

Me and Greg went round the corner in front of us. I ran ahead and so did Greg. I said to him, “Continue round the block,” and turned down a cut-through (like full of garages); but so did Greg…and the 3 balaclavas saw him. My plan was to be behind them to listen to their conversation and dodge whatever they were going to do.

I told Greg to go ahead and I hid round a wall. So Greg is halfway across this cut-through when the balaclavas come through. One turns and looks at me straight away, but I had a backup plan. I started walking forwards; Greg was about 10 metres ahead of me.

Suddenly, something smashed beside me. A block of ice!

I spun round and said, “What is your problem?! I haven’t done anything to you! I saw you watching me by the pond. I’m not stupid, you know!”

While I said this, two of them were hiding behind a car, thinking I couldn’t see them.

Ok, so you’re thinking ‘OMG Metalvolt PWND them!!!!’ Well, you’re wrong. I got PWND by them as well.

While I was running around like a headless chicken trying to find Greg, who had disappeared, I ran past the balaclavas again…but I let them see my back and they threw a snowball at it.

DAMN! That was so stupid of me. It’s obviously because my Ninja Power Dude Levels were low.

After this, I found Greg (IN HIS HOUSE!!!!!!). I had looked there before…I’m as confused as you are. Sorry for inflicting you with this story, but come on. I need some material to work with and this is the best I got. Yup, my life is that boring.

Yet, I have Ninja Powers and you don’t. I WIN, YOU LOSE!

Not really…we’re all equal

–Peace Out, Optimus Sum

Tribal Wars (mmorpgomgz)

ElliotI have recently started playing an MMO (basically, an online game) called Tribal Wars. InnoGames is the company that made this online game. They are also the developer behind another online game called The West, I tried. It’s not the best game ever. By the looks of their web page they are a German company, but also have an English version of their games.
The goal of Tribal Wars is to get loads of troops, get loads of points or be the best in your World. A world is a server, at the moment there are 31 worlds. From that, I can deduct that it’s a popular game. You can get points by building buildings in your village.

You start the game with: Village Headquarters; which is where you control the construction and level of all your buildings in your village, Warehouse; this is where you store your resources: wood, clay and iron. The bigger your warehouse the more resources you can hold.

There are also a timber camp, clay pit and iron mine where you get your resources; the higher level you upgrade them to, the more resources you get an hour.
As you get more wood, clay and iron you can upgrade your buildings and then build new buildings such as a Smithy where you can research new types of troops. When you build buildings you get some points from it, the more points you get the higher rank you are on the leader boards.

At the moment I am still 20th in my continent. A continent is an area in a server which is about 20-60 squares by 20-60 squares. Each square contains around 11 villages. When you have a great village you can build an academy which produces Nobles which can conquer other player villages and take their village as your own. Then you have 2 villages, and start again, but keep your 1st village.
In the Barracks you can build troops which you can send out to other villages to ask to borrow their resources

No. You steal them and use them for yourself. However if someone else tries to nick your resources while you have troops in your village, your troops will fight their troops and maybe even wipe a couple out, resulting in the enemy not being able to take as many resources.
You can also join a tribe, which is a group of players with similar interests. A tribe builds relations with other tribes and make Allies and Enemies. Hence the name Tribal Wars. So far I haven’t been involved in a “tribe war,” but I’m looking forward to one.
Overall I think Tribal Wars is a great game. All that could be improved is the interface which is a bit messy. So I hope they organize it soon. That doesn’t put me off though. I play it every day.

Check it out at here.
